As a kid, I wanted to be an archeologist. I wanted to find evidence of a life lived, of someone from the past. I imagined myself digging a hole and finding a parchment scroll. When I grew older and my mom, dad and brother passed I put away their things, looked in their desks, their clothes hoping to find a note, a letter in a drawer, that I could read and be in touch with them again.
I never found a letter from them and I'd like to change that. I want to leave letters in a drawer that my kids, my friends, can read. I want them to be able to see me--as if a letter in a drawer could have a voice, a face and of course, they do--blurred by memory, softened by sentiment.
How about the real thing? What if you could access a site where you could leave numerous letters in drawers that people you cared for could read with your permission or notification? With webcam recording those people could see you talking, breathing, gesturing, gaze into your eyes and see you always the way you are. What do you think? Would you be interested in such a site?
It would be an archeologist's dream: to touch something from the past and have it live again.
